Woman Run Business or a Woman A 2010 Business Award will be presented to a nominated local firm which the Friends feel has made the greatest concerted efforts to support further opportunities for women in business. The Spirit of Excellence Award will be presented to a local woman who the Friends consider to have achieved a significant advancement in her employment or demonstrates significant leadership in her profession. The Friends of the Delaware County Women's Commission will hold its Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center in Drexel Hill, PA. The Friends will present their annual Spirit and Business awards. Last year’s Business Award was awarded to Child Learning Centers, Inc., Patricia M. Rota, the Chief Executive Officer accepted the award. The Spirit of Excellence Awards were presented to Carol Jensen, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Wawa, Inc., and Maureen Shields, Firefighter & President, Tinicum Township Fire Company.
